Positive personalities (5 mins)

Goals
orange-dot.gifLearners see positive qualities in themselves.
orange-dot.gifThe atmosphere in the group becomes easy and open.

Guidelines

step1.gif
orange-dot.gifEach learner chooses an adjective that starts with the same letter as their name. For example 'Kind Karin' or 'Gorgeous George'. The adjective should be positive and should describe something about that person.
orange-dot.gif Each person then also chooses an action, which they can mime to show their adjective. For example, if the person is “Strong Sipho”, he might hold up his arms and clench his fists like a body-builder.

step2.gif
orange-dot.gifOnce everyone has chosen a name and an action, the group stands in a circle and one at a time each learner comes into the middle of the circle saying loudly, “Good morning / afternoon, I am (adjective name)” and shows their action.
orange-dot.gifThe rest of the group must then step forward together and greet the person in return saying loudly, “Good morning (adjective name)” while mimicking the action they were shown.
