EXCHANGE II
Goals
Learners react to the Dutch learners comics
Learners see the reactions form the Dutch learners to their own comics.
Guidelines
We are going to look at and react to the comics that the learners in the Netherlands have made. Learners should work in the same group as last time. The Dutch learners had the same assignment as the South African learners; they also made a comic about a conflict that is typical for young people in their country. We will now have a look at the comics they made and respond to them, by giving an example of how you think you can solve the conflict in their comic.

Learners should go to the comic maker by clicking here or typing in http://againstviolence.butterfly-works.org/

Click on ‘The comic strips?’
Here you will find all the comics that have been published.

To find the comics from the exchange students, you go to select a school.
You can type in the name of the school and class of the exchange school, which you have been given by the educator. Educators please contact Mike or Marita of Foundation against Senseless Violence for the exact learners to exchange with.

Find the comic made by the group that has the same number of your group in the name.
Have a look at the comic they made. This is a typically Dutch conflict.
Discussion questions for learners:
* What happens in the comic?
* How did the characters react to what happened?
* What do you think about what happened and how they reacted?
* How do you think that the conflict can be solved?

Learners should give their response by doing the following:|
Click on respond under the comic.
Fill in your names etc and then type a response in which you describe;
- Did you recognize the conflict?
- How would you solve this problem?
Explain for each character in the comic what you think they should do.
When they are finished the should click on ‘go’ to publish their response. The Dutch learners who made the comic will now be able to read your solution.

Now the learners can also visit their own comics to see what the Dutch learners have said in response to their comics.
Tell learners to go to their own comics that they made last week and see what the Dutch learners have said

Discuss with the whole class what learners have learnt from the exchange.
